Understanding Commanding the Heights

Commanding the Heights is built on leadership lessons forged through real-world responsibility, military service, instruction, mentorship, and faith.
Leadership is more than position or authority. It requires courage to make difficult decisions, clarity to communicate truth, and stewardship to lead people with integrity.
Whether in the military, the workplace, the church, or the home, true leadership leaves a lasting impact on the people entrusted to our care.

Our Mission

Fostering Leadership Excellence

The mission of Commanding the Heights is to equip and encourage leaders through biblically grounded principles forged through real-world experience, faithful stewardship, and a commitment to courage, clarity, and integrity in every sphere of life.

Meet David Jeffers

David Jeffers is a retired U.S. Army First Sergeant, instructor, author, and mentor with more than four decades of leadership and training experience. Throughout his military and civilian career, he has led, taught, coached, and developed others in high-responsibility environments where clarity, accountability, and stewardship mattered.
As an Army Air Traffic Control leader and Master Academic Instructor, David spent years training soldiers and leaders under pressure while learning firsthand that leadership is more than position or authority — it is the daily responsibility of serving, guiding, and developing people with integrity.
Today, through writing, teaching, podcasting, and discipleship, David continues to encourage leaders to lead with courage, clarity, and conviction in every sphere of life — the workplace, the church, the community, and the home.
